Otherwise known as THE GRAND JIHAD defines itself as being the continuous effort to obtain the noble characters and to purify oneself. This fight against the carnal soul must be taken with the assistance of a living  master, one who knows the vicissitudes of the soul and the remedies of the hearts.

The goal is to reach to His (GOD) knowledge: "I created the jinn and the humankind only that they worship ME." (Quran 51:56) The worship/adoration of GOD according to Ibn Abbas (the interpreter of the Quran) has the same meaning (synonym) as that of knowledge.

In Sufism therefore a method by which the behavior of the disciple transforms him/her and softens itself to have an appeased soul and noble characters (Divine) thanks to the invocation and to the accompaniment of the accomplished master.

Ibn Abbas, GOD accept his father and him relates: someone asked: "O Prophet (blessings and peace of GOD be upon him), which is the better person with whom one should keep company ?," The Prophet (blessings and peace of GOD be upon him) replied: "The one, who when seen reminds you of GOD,  whose words add to your science ... ".

The respect of life and love are the two wings of the disciple in the progression towards GOD. In fact, the human being according to the Holy Quran is the breath of GOD: " Then HE fashioned him and breathed into him of HIS spirit; and appointed for you hearing and sight and hearts. Small thanks you give!" (Quran 32:8). Thus the human must be the object of all veneration, of love without race distinction or of religion. Islam came to unite the hearts and to reign peace in the universe. "O mankind! Lo ! WE have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that you may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of GOD, is the best in conduct. Lo! GOD is Knower, Aware." (Quran 49:12).

The bulk of the message of the Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace of GOD be upon him) lies in the communication of human values, the nobility in the human being with harmony and in peace.
